Ráo riết "siết" ngoại tệ (03/06)

Gần như cùng một lúc, Ngân hàng Nhà nước ra ba quyết định liên quan đến ngoại tệ.: tăng tỷ lệ dự trữ bắt buộc lên thêm 1%, giảm trần lãi suất huy động xuống 2%, mở rộng diện bắt buộc phải bán ngoại tệ cho NHNN. Đây là những động thái khá mạnh nhưng không bất ngờ nhằm tiếp tục bình ổn thị trường ngoại hối.

Ignoring advices, State Bank not intend to loosen monetary policies (2/6)

There has been no sign of showing that the State Bank is considering loosening the monetary policies now, five months after applying the tightened monetary policies. The State Bank has sent a message to the public that it will not raise the required compulsory reserves ratio, not issue bonds, continue to tighten the credit growth, keep the deposit ceiling interest rate at 14 percent and not to set a cap for lending interest rates. All these things show that the central bank does not intend to loosen the monetary policies right now.

Nhập siêu trong năm tháng đầu năm nay đã lên đến 6,6 tỉ đôla Mỹ (USD) và riêng trong tháng 5 đã lên đến 1,7 tỉ USD, tăng cao nhất trong vòng 17 tháng qua. Điều đáng lo ngại là xu thế nhập siêu tăng cao (18%) liên tiếp trong năm tháng liền, chứng tỏ các biện pháp nhằm hạn chế nhập khẩu, giảm nhập siêu của Chính phủ chưa đạt hiệu quả.
