It’s not easy to push up dollar lending (29/3)

Bankers have denied the opinion that the outstanding loans in dollars have increased sharply because businesses now hurry to borrow dollars before the new regulation takes effect on May 2. Meanwhile, the dollar price increases in recent days have been attributed to the new regulation which stipulates that the foreign currency position of every bank must not be higher than 20 percent by the end of the day.

Chỉ số công nghiệp cộng dồn so với cùng kỳ từ tháng 7-12 của năm 2011 và hai tháng đầu năm 2012 đi xuống một cách đều đặn, cho thấy sản xuất bị đình trệ rất rõ. Vấn đề kiềm chế lạm phát được đặt ra là cấp thiết, tuy nhiên các chính sách cũng cần chú tâm vào vấn đề an sinh xã hội, hỗ trợ khu vực kinh tế ngoài nhà nước và vực dậy sản xuất trong nước. Nếu tình trạng đình trệ sản xuất kéo dài, có thể ngay mục tiêu lạm phát một con số cũng không đạt được.

Vietnamese Businesses in the Fifth Year of WTO Membership (28/3)

Vietnam has been a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) for five years, with Vietnamese businesses increasing their competitiveness, rather than have been 'crushed' by foreign rivals. However, they still need to strengthen their competitiveness, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Cam Tu said at a scientific conference entitled, "Vietnamese Business Competitiveness after Five Years of WTO Membership", which was held on March 9 by the Communist Journal, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the National Committee for International Economic Cooperation.
