Vietnam’s exports are forecast to enjoy a good year in 2014 thanks to the country’s efforts to expand markets and new opportunities generated from trade deals that are expected to be concluded next year.

The government has successfully controlled the inflation and ensured the macroeconomic stability. However, Vietnam has to pay a heavy price for this – the low GDP growth rate and the death of tens of thousands of businesses.

The recovery of foreign direct investment will continue playing a critical role in bolstering Vietnam’s economic growth in 2014.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung has sent a New Year message emphasizing the central tasks of 2014, including the improvement of the institutions and promotion of the mastership right of the people.

Thủ tướng Chính phủ đã đưa ra thông điệp rõ ràng, nếu DNNN không nghiêm túc thực hiện Đề án tái cơ cấu đã được phê duyệt sẽ bị xử lý nghiêm. TS. Nguyễn Đình Cung tin tưởng, quá trình tái cơ cấu DNNN sẽ có chuyển biến quyết liệt.

Để phát triển và hội nhập trong bối cảnh hiện nay, yêu cầu đặt ra đối với các doanh nghiệp Việt Nam là cần nhanh chóng tái cấu trúc nhằm nâng cao hiệu suất kinh doanh và tăng năng lực cạnh tranh.

Với việc triển khai quyết liệt và đồng bộ các giải pháp, năm 2013 ngành Thuế thu ngân sách Nhà nước (NSNN) ước đạt 659.255 tỷ đồng, tăng 2,3% so với dự toán, bằng 109,8% so với thực hiện năm 2012.

The Central Institute for Economic Management celebrated its 35th anniversary and receipt of the First-class Independence Medal of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on December 30, 2013 at its location on 68 Phan Dinh Phung, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Attending the celebration were representatives of the leaders of the Party, the State, the National Assembly, the Government; representatives of ministries, associations, research institutions, universities, ... along with the entire staff of the Institute from different generations.
