Phát biểu tại kỳ họp thứ 6, Quốc hội khóa XIII trong phiên thảo luận về tình hình kinh tế - xã hội sáng 1/11, Thống đốc NHNN Nguyễn Văn Bình cho biết, trong năm 2012 và 9 tháng đầu năm 2013 các TCTD đã tự xử lý được khoảng 100 nghìn tỷ đồng nợ xấu từ nguồn dự phòng rủi ro. Bên cạnh đó, VAMC đã mua được 10 nghìn tỷ đồng nợ xấu của các TCTD.
