This paper makes an attempt to analyze key characteristics of, an challenges to Vietnam’s SMEs development focusing on networking with other stakeholders in the globalization era. The paper is structured  as following: Section 1 provides analysis of Vietnam’s SMEs development and characteristics. Sestion 2 discusses key factors of the country’s  SMEs development highlighting impacts of economic reform, SMEs promotion policies and programs. The last section suggests major policy recommendations in fostering SMEs development in the context of economic intergration.
