On March 17, 2006 – Hanoi. The launching ceremony of Vietnam Economic Portal (VNEP) and the publication of Vietnam’s Economy 2005 was held at the International Conference Center. Participants of the ceremony were representatives from the Party and Governmental agencies, ministries, departments, think-tanks, press agencies, and embassies and international organizations to Vietnam. The Deputy Prime minister, H.E Pham Gia Khiem launched the VNEP.

Since 1986 when embarking the reform process, along with gradually developing a socialism-oriented market economy, freeing production forces, shifting economic structures, innovating management structures, taking actively international economic integration, the Party and the State have provided a clearer conception of national industrialization and modernization.
