Main targets in 2006

The country aims for rapid and sustainable economic development including sharp changes in quality, efficiency and competitiveness. A close relationship is to be made between economic growth and socio-cultural development and environmental protection. Further attention will be paid to human development and expansion of democracy. Greater efforts will be made to boost international integration.

  • Gross domestic product to increase 8%;

  • Added value in agriculture, forestry and aqua-culture to rise by 3.8%; industry and construction, 10.2% and services, 8%;

  • Total export turnover to increase by 16.4%;

  • Total investment for development of the whole society to account for 38.6% of GDP;

  • Consumer index growth rate to be lower than economic growth;

  • Jobs to be created for about 1.6 million people including the export of 77.000 of labourers and experts;

  • Poor households rate to reduce by 20%;

  • Under-five children suffering malnutrition to be under 24%;

  • Birth rate to be reduced by 0.04%

  • Forests to cover 38% of the country’s land area;

  • Safe water to be supplied to 67% of rural people and 75% of urban people;

  • 40% of establishments to be removed from the list of pollution.
