Nhon Hoi Economic Zone in central Vietnam announced Thursday land purchase and rental rates for companies seeking to invest there.

The people’s committee of Binh Dinh province, where the zone is based, decided that the basic price of land would be VND22,400 (VND16,000=US$1) per squ.m and lease rates VND56 per squ.m per year.

In tourist areas, the rate will depend on where the land is situated and what it is used for.

The 12,000 ha EZ has taxable and tax-free regions with the non-tariff region having a deep-sea port, a service area, a storage facility, a tax-free zone, and an export-processing zone.

The taxable region will include an industrial zone, a school for vocational training, an exhibition venue, a shipyard, tourism sites, and deep water ports which can handle 10 to 12 million tons by 2015.

The EZ has attracted over 60 foreign projects with an estimated investment of $3 billion.
