Vietnam brings many opportunities to German businesses (7/4)

On the occasion of the international exhibition on textile and garment and accessories in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Andreas Mondry, Marketing Director of the Donier Company from Germany talked with Vietnam Economic Times’ Nguyen Thanh.
How do you comment on the textile and garment industry of Vietnam?

We have supplied technology and machinery to Hanosimex, a Vietnamese textile and garment firm, for the last 15 years. We have established fine business relationship and get used to the market and transformation of local businesses here.
We and companies from other countries as well consider Vietnam as a country with high economic growth rate. The textile and garment industry of Vietnam creates a large deal of jobs, has expanding export market and is seeking for technologies and machinery from many countries around the world but only China.
The Vietnam – US relationship has been developing very well and US businesses like to set up partnership with Vietnamese companies. We also like to do business with Vietnam and Vietnam has brought several chances for German enterprises.
Vietnamese firms, especially private ones, prefer to buy machinery from Asian countries for reasonable prices. Does your company plan to design particular equipments for the Vietnam market?
We have manufactured equipments and machinery of the latest technology. Those that we sold to Hanosimex still operates very well after nearly 16 years. We also have spares whenever needed. We have won bidding for several times not only for high quality but also reasonable prices. Though our prices are higher than those of Asian manufacturers but still lower than those of other European producers. Moreover, quality of our products and technologies is very high. We also have support for customers who are in financial shortage.
Do you expect to sign many deals at this exhibition?

We hope so but it takes much time to carry out a deal, especially in Vietnam. We have agents in Vietnam and they are the Tam Lien Company in the northern region and Euro Asiatic in the southern region. We come to this exhibition to directly meet customers. We also spend much time to introduce products and answer customers’ questions.
