
Vietnam comes third in retail turnover attraction (03/05)

AT Kearney said that a half of 84 million Vietnamese people are under 30 years old and they like shopping. From 2004 to 2005, consumers’ spending and retail turnover rose by 16 percent and 20 percent respectively.
Meanwhile, the General Statistics Office said that Vietnam’s total retail turnover reached nearly US$21 billion in 2005. According to the Ministry of Trade, the per capita retail turnover increased to VND5.7 million in 2005 from VND2.8 million five years earlier
