Nguyen Bich Dat, Deputy Minister of MPI, said that Vietnam planned to have 320,000 new businesses in 2006-2010 which will create 2.7mil jobs. To reach that end, the most important thing for now is to accelerate administrative procedures reform in order to create favourable conditions for enterprises’ operations.

Mr Dat said that the ministry was drawing up the programme on business registration reform, under which the one-door policy would be applied.

In the future, every enterprise will be granted a single code which will be accepted and used by all state management agencies. Meanwhile, the state agencies involved in the business registration process will share information about enterprises. This will be done when a national database on businesses is updated.

Le Quang Manh, Head of the Business Registration Division under MPI’s Department for Small and Medium Enterprise Development said that the standardisation of business registration will create the premise for computerisation and automation in business registration.

MPI has kick-started the programme on business registration renovation. The preparatory work for the renovation will be undertaken until mid 2007 before it will be applied in all 64 provinces and cities nationwide. Mr Manh said that once the business registration process is renovated, the goal of license granting to enterprises via the Internet within one day will be within reach.
