Vietnam attracts US $350 million worth of FDI in January

Vietnam attracted a total of US $350 million worth of foreign direct investment in January, a year-on-year increase of 2%, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Department of Foreign Investment.

These include 29 new licensed projects with a total registered capital of US $305 million and 10 other projects asked for total increase in their investment capital of US $45 million.

In January, a total of US $340 million worth of FDI was disbursed, up 33% against the same period last year. Total revenue of the foreign invested enterprises is estimated at US $1.9 billion, up 18% year-on-year. This sector created 7,000 more jobs, bringing the total number of workers working for foreign invested enterprises to 1.136 million workers, up 20% against the same period last year.
