Vietnam calls for suggestions for 2011-2020 development strategy (06/03)

The Prime Minister has recently assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) and the Vietnam Social Sciences Institute to draft the socio – economic development plan for 2011-2020 (SEDP).
As it is a very difficult work, MPI said that it would be better to call for the suggestions from other scientists and managers for the draft. The ministry has called on experts to give suggestions on the goals Vietnam needs to achieve by 2020, the tasks and the solutions to achieve the goals.
When compiling the five year SEDP 2006-2010, Vietnam also consulted international community of donors, foreign invested enterprises, the international community in Vietnam and the public about the plan.
The Prime Minister has requested MPI and the Vietnam Social Sciences Institute to build up separated drafts of SEDP, which will be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval in June 2007. The Prime Minister will consider the drafts and decide which agency will take the main responsibility for compiling the detailed SEDP.
