Plan for supporting industries till 2010 approved

The Ministry of Industry will give priority to the development of garment, footwear, electronics, car manufacturing and assembly and engineering as part of its efforts to boost supporting industries up to 2010.
To deploy the development plan, the ministry has encouraged studies which have close relations to the production of materials and spare parts and the formation of industrial zones specialising in providing supporting materials for enterprises.
It will also promote technology transfers and investment as well as seek out assistance from Japan, the European Union countries and FDI enterprises in the field of human resources training for Viet Nam's supporting industries.
