Fish exports to the EU and the US are tipped to rise in the near future, particularly now that several EU importers are planning to shift their orders to Viet Nam.
Thailand’s shrimp exports will decrease due to an increase in material costs and disease, giving Vietnamese companies an opportunity to capture more foreign markets.
Viet Nam’s seafood output in July is estimated at 166,000 tons, bringing the total output in seven months to nearly 1,248,000 tons, a rise of 2.21 percent year-on-year and realizing 62.4 percent of the 2007 target.
