Gov't confirms loans for large power projects (13/09)

The PM authorised the Finance Ministry to sign the letter of guaranty for a contract with the Societe Generale bank which will provide a loan for the Se San 4 hydro power project, and another with the China EximBank and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a loan for the Hai Phong 2 thermal power project.
The 300 MW Hai Phong power plant will be a modern coal-fueled plant built with a total investment of 623.6 million USD.
The 360 MW Se San 4 hydro power project will be built with a total investment of over 5.500 billion VND (346 million USD) in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces in the Central Highlands.
