Ten universities and two colleges have signed deals with 34 enterprises to promote co-operation in training the human resources to meet the requirements of the businesses and in carrying out research and technology transfers.

China’s Hon Hai Group and the Hanoi University of Technology signed an agreement to select students and train them according to the enterprise’s demands. The Hon Hai Group also pledged itself to grant a scholarship programme worth US $34,000 and build a laboratory for students at the university.

The signings were made at the conference entitled “Human resources training, scientific study and technological transfers to meet the needs of business” of universities and colleges in the north. The conference was aimed at working out measures to strengthen co-operation between enterprises and universities in training.

This is the third time the Ministry of Training and Education has organised such a conference in order to link universities, students and businesses. In the other two conferences, held in Ho Chi Minh City in February and October this year, a total of 41 agreements were signed between businesses and universities. Many of these agreements are believed to have been successfully implemented.
