It is in marked contrast to the past five years when they expressed different opinions on the investment environment, according to the survey by the Vietnam Business Forum .
Last year a majority of foreign businesses were skeptical about the investment climate in light of the many hurdles they faced.
But this year 42 percent of the foreign businesses polled have hailed Vietnam’s efforts to amend its laws and regulations to bring them on a par with international conventions.
They have said the country observes international business regulations and conventions.
Over 90 percent of them have revealed plans to crank up their business activities in the next three years.
Such rosy reviews have played a vital role in increasing the foreign direct investment flow into Vietnam and wooing more international firms to the country.
International businesses concurred that in the post-WTO era the government has taken great strides in improving the legal system and boosting administrative reform to create an investment environment most conducive to foreign businesses, and a level playing field between international and local participants in every sector.
What our country has achieved in the post-WTO era might still fall short of expectations.
However, it is also undeniable that we have delivered solid results thanks to our serious commitments to international conventions.
The fact that the business community is upbeat about the investment environment is a vital success Vietnam has notched up.
