MoF takes actions to curb inflation (04/04)

The ministry also called on companies, schools and hospitals not to increase electricity, coal and petroleum price or public transportation, school and hospital fees.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF), service fees and prices that are higher than average regional and global levels will be lowered and unnecessary fees removed.

In the second quarter of the year, the MoF will co-operate with other sectors, ministries and localities to check contributing price factors in products like drugs, coal cement, steel and other building materials.

Local authorities were asked to check dealers’ price listing and put an end to excessive price increases.

To toots exports, the ministry said it would support companies in building trademarks and establishment of the country’s trade, tourism and investment centres in several important world markets.

The MoF will adjust import tariffs imposed for certain goods and increase export taxes to limit imports and boost domestic production.

To balance commodity supply and demand, ministries, localities and enterprises will co-operate closely to increase production especially agricultural production in areas hit by the recent cold snaps.

The ministry will concurrently strive to increase State budget collection by 5 percent of the se target approved by the National Assembly. It will work to tighten spending, improve the efficiency of State funds utilisation and keep outstanding Government loans at a safe level.-Enditem
