Guidance on State Funds Use on Pollution Remedy Environmental and Improvement (4/11)

The joint circular stated that State budgets are used for the following purposes: Surveying, analysing and assessing environmental pollution for establishing projects; treating and remediating environmental pollution and improving the environment; and inspecting and taking over projects.
State funds will support improving and upgrading centralised waste collection and treatment systems in cottage industry villages with serious environmental contamination; treating, rehabilitating and restoring seriously chemical-contaminated environment in cottage industry villages.
The circular also specifies the level of State fund support for projects. Accordingly, the support cannot exceed 50 percent of total costs for projects dealing with environmental pollution and improving the environment in cottage industry villages with particularly serious pollution; and cannot exceed 20 percent of total expenses for projects collecting and treating wastewater in Grade 2 urban zones in the basins of Nhue, Day, Cau and Dong Nai Rivers.
This circular takes effect on December 1, 2013.
