Nearly $5 billion of FDI into VN in first four months (28/4)

By April 20, 2014, 390 new projects were licensed with a total registered capital of $3.22 billion, which is equivalent to 65.4 percent of last year’s same period. 

As many as 140 projects increased their capital by US$1.62 billion, equivalent to 49.7 percent of the same period of the year just gone.
 
The processing and manufacturing industries have seen 204 new projects. They had total newly-registered and additional capital of $3.6 billion, accounting for 74.3 percent of total capital registered in the four months.
 
Real estates and construction ranked second and third with respective investment of $392.3 million and US$237 million.
 
Of the 36 countries and territories investing into Viet Nam in the last four months, the Republic ofKorea ranked first with US$1.12 billion. Japan came second with US$531 million. Singapore and British Virginlands ranked third and fourth with US$479.18 million and US$406.55 million respectively.
 
Binh Duong province is leading the localities attracting most FDI, followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Quang Ninh, Tay Ninh, Hai Duong provinces.

The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects have disbursed US$4 billion in investment in the first four months of this year, an increase of 6.7 percent over the same period last year.
