Program on new rural development strengthened

The task is an important and vital solution for successful realization of Resolution 26-NQ/TW on agriculture, farmers and rural areas, dated August 5 2008 and issued by the 7th Plenum of the 10th Party Central Committee.
Over the last three years, the program has helped create positive development in the areas of agriculture, rural areas and national industrialization and modernization.
The PM asked ministries, agencies and localities to improve the quality of planning and supplement agricultural production schemes in line with agricultural restructuring requirements and agro-products amidst international integration.
The building of new rural areas must be associated with agricultural restructuring; focusing on research, technical transfer, application of scientific advances, and key export-oriented products.
The model which combines farm households with enterprises and other economic partners should be promoted.
Operation of the collective economy and cooperatives should be consolidated and upgraded.
Ministries, agencies and localities were tasked to develop essential infrastructural facilities at communes and villages in favor of production and daily life and support production of key and competitive agro-products.
Vocational training for rural residents must keep abreast of practical demands of enterprises and localities.
Poverty reduction work especially in remote and far-reaching areas and ethnic minority groups should be paid due attention./.
