WB pledges loans to Viet Nam (24/07)

Victoria Kwakwa, WB Country Director in Viet Nam, made the guarantee to National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in Ha Noi yesterday.

Kwakwa hailed the NA for adopting several laws and resolutions, including a plan to promote sustainable poverty reduction by 2020, which she said reflects the Vietnamese government's commitment to the issue.

The guest also vowed to work closely with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to improve health care and education services, especially in ethnic minority areas.

Joint efforts will be made to improve the disbursement of the WB loans in Viet Nam, she said.

Appreciating the Viet Nam-WB national strategic partnership strategy in the 2012-2016 period, Ngan assured Kwakwa that Viet Nam always treasures the WB's loans and is determined to speed up its disbursement.
