The
master plan aims to boost advanced agriculture development with
large-scale production, high productivity and quality, effectiveness and
competitiveness, ensuring national food security and fostering exports.
By 2020, besides the two hi-tech
agricultural zones in Hau Giang and Phu Yen provinces, eight additional
hi-tech agricultural zones will be built in Thai
Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong and Binh Duong
provinces, Ho Chi Minh and Can Tho cities.
Accordingly, hi-tech agricultural
zones producing coffee will be in the Central Highlands, the northwest
and north central regions while those producing tea will be Thai Nguyen
and Lam Dong provinces.
Those producing dragon fruits will
be in Binh Thuan province and vegetables will be produced in Lao Cai and
Lam Dong provinces and Ha Noi, Hai Phong and Ho Chi Minh cities.
Flowers will be supplied by
Lao Cai and Lam Dong provinces, Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City while fruits
for exports will be grown in the southeastern and Mekong Delta regions.
Dairy regions will be centralized in
Ha Noi and Son La, Nghe An and Lam Dong provinces while pig farms will
be formed in the Red River Delta and southeastern regions and livestock
farms will be developed in the Red River Delta, northeastern, northern
central and Mekong Delta regions.
In addition, shrimp farms will be
centralized in the Red River Delta, northern central, coastal southern
central, southeastern and Mekong Delta regions.
The ten hi-tech agricultural zones are expected to operate effectively by 2030.
Meanwhile, studies on planning other hi-tech agricultural zones in Ha Noi, Hai Phong city and other provinces will be conducted.
