The other 115 projects were invested with an additional capital of US$5 billion, raising the total newly-registered and additional capital to US$20 billion. Of the figure, 12.5% were invested by individuals and 76% were invested by private companies.
The nation’s overseas investment mainly focused on traditional markets such as Laos with the investment of US$3.9 billion in 259 projects and Cambodia with US$3.2 billion in 171 ones.
Other three nations attracted huge investment from Vietnamese businesses including Venezuela US$1.8 billion, Peru US$1.3 billion and Russia US$968 million.
The investment in
the mining sector took the lead with US$5.1 billion in 111
projects, followed by the agriculture-forestry-aquatic sector with US$2.7
billion in 125 projects.
