NA discusses socio-economic development performances

Earlier, at the opening ceremony of the session, on behalf of the PM, Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the Report on the implementation of the socio-economic development plan in 2014 and 2015.

According to the report, 13 out of the 14 criteria were reached. The GDP growth rate attained 5.98%, exceeding the set plan and highest since 2011. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 1.84%, the lowest over the past few years.

Exports rose 13.7%; trade surplus attained US$2.1 billion; poor household number reduced 1.83%.

The Government issued and monitored the implementation of its Resolution No. 01/NQ-CP dated January 02, 2014 on duties and key measures for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and state budget estimate in 2015.

Accordingly, a number of criteria are proposed, including a GDP growth of around 10%; a Consumer Price Index rise of 5%, poor household reduction of 1.7-2%, poor district decline of 1.7-2% and creation of 1.6 million jobs.
