11th Party Central Committee convenes meeting

At this meeting, the
Party Central Committee will discuss the socio-economic performance in
2015, the socio-economic development plan for 2016, preparations for
personnel of the upcoming 12thParty Central Committee, election
orientations for delegates of the 14th National Assembly and the
election of the People's Council at all levels in the 2016-2021 phase
and other key issues.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong delivered an opening speech, asserting the meeting is held on the context that the 11th Party Central Committee is going to conclude and the Party congress is being organized at provinces and cities nationwide.
The nation is striving to launch effectively the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress and socio-economic development goals in 2015 and in the 2011-2015 period, he said.
The meeting will be held from October 5-11.
