FDI project license: more power granted to local governments (24/08)

The government has assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) to compile an instruction to promote the second wave of investment into Vietnam. One of the key points of the instruction involves giving more power to local governments in monitoring and licencing foreign-invested (FDI) projects. Head of the MPI Foreign Investment Department Phan Huu Thang talked about this.

FDI hits nearly 4 billion in eight months (24/08)

During the past eight months, foreign-invested projects in Vietnam continued to see positive signs. Despite levels of new investment capital attraction and additional capital increases experienced a drop from a year earlier, the overseas Investment Department says foreign direct investment (FDI) is likely to rise thanks to a number of major projects to be licensed in September.

Khi đã là thành viên, bản lĩnh hội nhập của VN sẽ là nhân tố chính, chứ không phải là sức ép từ bên ngoài" - ông Claudio Dordi - chuyên gia về luật và thương mại quốc tế - nhận xét.
