Decree to be enacted to pave way for foreign investment (29/06)

The Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) is to promulgate a decree guiding the implementation of several of Vietnam’s WTO commitments. This is the long-awaited document which is hoped will help settle the impediments in fulfilling WTO commitments in terms of investment, paving the way for the new investment flow into Vietnam.

Deadline for 3% decision: Dec 31, 2007 (29/06)

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has released a dispatch guiding the implementation of Decision No 03/2007 on loaning for securities investments, which says that the ceiling level of 3% must be reached prior to December 31, 2007.

Theo số liệu mới công bố của Bộ Kế hoạch và Đầu tư, tăng trưởng GDP 6 tháng đầu năm 2007 đạt 7,9%, là mức cao nhất so với cùng kỳ trong 5 năm gần đây. Kết quả này tiếp tục khẳng định xu hướng phát triển tích cực của nền kinh tế. Tuy nhiên, nền kinh tế cũng gặp phải không ít khó khăn, và để đạt được tốc độ tăng trưởng cả năm 2007 như kế hoạch đề ra là 8,2- 8,5% thì các cấp, các ngành cần nỗ lực để khắc phục những khó khăn ấy.
