Mekong river delta develops as key economic development region

After 20 years of renovation, the Mekong river delta’s economic development orientations have been changed. Apart from focusing on comprehensive agricultural development, the region has also brought into play its advantages in sea economy, trade-services-tourism, construction material production industry and oil industry. These achievements have created a firm foundation and trust for the government to raise high its determination in building and developing the Mekong river delta into a motive economic region of the country. Vietnam, US to begin new round of WTO talks soon ( 05/05)

A fresh round of talks between Vietnam and the US, the last remaining bilateral partner on accession to the World Trade Organization, is scheduled for May 9-13 in Washington, a top trade official said. The Vietnamese negotiators led by trade deputy minister Luong Van Tu are scheduled to leave Hanoi for the US on May 7.
